My client, a leading international law firm, is seeking an experienced associate to join their rapidly expanding Competition, Trade, and Public Affairs team in Brussels. This role offers the chance to work on high-profile and complex matters in EU trade law.

The Team and Role
The Brussels office consists of 65 professionals from 10 different countries. The firm’s Competition, Trade, and Public Affairs team offers comprehensive EU law and public affairs support, particularly in the areas of international trade law.
As part of this team, you will focus on assisting clients with complex issues related to EU trade law, including high-profile anti-dumping and anti-subsidy cases, trade litigation before the EU courts, and advisory work for multinational companies. You may also have the opportunity to work on competition law matters, covering areas such as cartels, abuse of dominance, merger control, and State aid. While experience in competition law is beneficial, it is not a requirement for this role. The team is also involved in high-profile EU litigation, including cases before the European Commission and the European courts.

About You
The ideal candidate will have:
A collaborative mindset, with an interest in working in a team-oriented and entrepreneurial environment
4-8 years of experience in EU trade law, with a proven track record in handling EU anti-dumping/anti-subsidy cases; experience in competition law is a plus
A strong academic background in EU trade law, with an LL.M. being an advantage
Excellent command of English, both written and spoken
Exceptional analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to provide clear, practical, and actionable advice to clients
A strong interest in business development
