Public Inquiries Senior Associate (contract)

Job Category: PRIVATE PRACTICE
Job Location: LONDON
Practice Area: PUBLIC & NON-PROFIT
Specialisation: PUBLIC INQUIRIES

About the team

My client’s Inquiries and Investigations team works on some of the most high-profile and complex matters for a wide range of clients. This team provides targeted legal and strategic advice and engages collaboratively across a wide spectrum of stakeholders while protecting the interests of those they support.

Members of this team have supported the Home Office, the Ministry of Defence, Cabinet Office, Department for Health & Social Security, Financial Reporting Council, Ofqual, large housing associations, care home providers, local authorities, and non-departmental public bodies.

My client has a number of opportunities available to join them to work on these special projects for 6 – 24 months. If you are only available for a specific amount of time, please ensure this is included in your application.

About the role

  • Acting as a supporting Solicitor to my client’s team across inquiries, investigations, reviews, and other inquisitorial processes.
  • Providing advice in relation to the provision of witness statements, drafting statements, and providing support to witnesses.
  • Ability to analyze high-volume complex information, identifying key documents and materials.
  • Leading disclosure and document review work, including some supervision of paralegals and other team members.
  • Attending hearings in order to support witnesses.
  • Management of own workload (often as part of a wider team on larger matters) with the ability to organize tasks on a day-to-day basis.
  • Active participation in team training as well as self-development of related skills.
  • Any other reasonable duties delegated by any Partner, Senior Manager, or Practice Operations Manager.

About you

My client is looking for Associates/Senior Associates to join them for 6 to 24 months (project lengths may vary) on a full-time basis (35 hours).

They require individuals with experience working on Document Review/Investigations/Inquiries projects previously and who hold a valid England & Wales practicing certificate.

Ideally, you will hold SC (Security Clearance) – please note this is not just DBS clearance. Please note they will require your SC certificate/confirmation details at the application stage.
