FINANCIAL SERVICE REGULATORY Associate

My client is one of the most prestigious law firms in London, and they have a unique opportunity for a UK-qualified Associate to join them and play an instrumental role in delivering new products and services in the financial services sector.  

We are looking to speak with UK solicitors with a minimum of three years and probably no more than eight years eight years knowledge of advising on regulatory matters in the financial services space. This could include the investment side or the retail side of banking, but it is worth noting at least some of the focus in this role sits within retail. The successful candidate will advise clients on a range of regulatory obligations in the retail sector, with an emphasis on retail wealth management, asset management, and platform services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drafting regulatory advice notes and assisting with compliance obligations.
  • Support clients in launching and modifying retail advisory, discretionary management, and platform products.
  • Advise on the implications of the Consumer Duty and assist with related regulatory issues.
  • Engage in M&A transactions, conducting due diligence for financial services firms.
  • Manage FOS disputes and regulatory supervisory actions, including s166 notices.
  • Drafting retail terms and conditions and supporting outsourcing arrangements.
  • Participate in marketing efforts, including pitches, training sessions, and industry events.
