As a key member of the Banking & Finance team, the Associate will support a wide range of domestic and cross-border financing transactions, including leveraged, real estate, structured, Islamic Finance, and receivables financing, as well as facility restructurings. The team advises both lenders and borrowers, including major banks, non-bank lenders, investment funds, corporates, and family offices.
Responsibilities
- Assist with all aspects of transactions, including drafting loan terms, security documents, and CPs, while independently managing deals and overseeing loan and security terms.
- Provide guidance and support to junior team members, fostering their growth and ensuring high-quality work.
- Participate in client marketing efforts, attend and host internal and external events, and build strong client relationships through effective communication and practical advice.
- Contribute to the team’s knowledge initiatives, conduct thorough research with a commercial focus, and deliver accurate, relevant, and persuasive advice.
- Adhere to all legal and regulatory obligations, including the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Standards and Regulations.
Candidate Specification
- Qualified solicitor in England and Wales with 1-5 years of PQE and broad experience in banking and finance.
- Demonstrate strong legal and commercial acumen, sound judgment, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a high level of attention to detail.
- Effectively manage tasks under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to a wide variety of responsibilities with a proactive and results-driven approach.
- Be a collaborative team player who is self-motivated, capable of working independently, and takes initiative in delivering high-quality results.
- Establish strong rapport with clients and foster effective, long-term working relationships, whist driving high standards, delivering with impact and conducting oneself through respect and integrity in all aspects.
